Who is in charge of house prices?

Published by: Yvonne Astley

It is a kind of weird thing, but who really decides on the house price?  Well, it isn’t the seller, it really isn’t the buyer, it’s the thing that we just can’t see or touch, it’s the market forces. The market forces decide the true value of a property, those same forces push up the prices as they can hold it down. It’s the supply and demand, the more people who chase after that one property, the more the price will go up. If the property is left alone and forgotten about, then the price will drop, fairly obvious really, but what is interesting is how these forces, such as the confidence and economy, can change so rapidly and seem out of control, like now. The message here is if you see something you like then just go for it, because who knows what is around the corner!
